This is an exciting new format with a cash prize up for grabs that is held in conjuction with the normal Db Drag and Bass Race events.

The nice thing about this format is you dont need to be the loudest to win the cash, if you can bass race in the 129.9 class you can walk away with some money.

This will be a excelent oportunity for new competitors to get involved with the local competition scene.

If I get off work that day, I plan on going. I don't know if I'm going to compete though, since this would be my first one ever going to. Any tips?
1 batt (under the hood), trunk setup, AQ 1200d, 2 12 SDC, back seats fold down, but subs pointed towards the rear.

Street is a good place for you to start and will most likely do well as there are not many local street competitors. Come out to the show and give it a go, plenty of people that will be happy to help you get louder.

**** my new setup should at least be installed (not necessarily finished) by then...I might have to jump into my first comp early :D

What class would I fall into?
Small hatchback
Yellowtop up front + 2 C&D's in the trunk
18" BTL in 6.2 cubes powered by a 3000w Crunch amp

If anything, you can come out and give bass race a try, it is a lot more fun than db drag as anybody can win.

Its pretty simple, you are just trying to average a certain number while playing music over a 30 second period. For instance most people run in the 129.9 class. If you system can play over a 133 db you should have no problem at all.

What's the definition of music? I assume it has to be a store bought cd, not a burned one correct? Can it be one of those store bought bass cd's?

bubbagumper6
10-09-2009, 10:15 PM
Good god, after reading all the rules for db drag it makes me not want to even bother...I think I would be in the Street Class C section but I'm going to have 3 batteries and it says max 2, it also has a 800^3in limit on the battery size and I have no idea what the heck that means...

Pioneer~Saturn
10-09-2009, 10:15 PM
If you want the added batts youd just be bumped upto super street nw if its a trunk setup/below the windowline. And there are almost no rules for bassrace

bubbagumper6
10-09-2009, 10:21 PM
Yeah that's another thing, I'm not really sure if it's considered a trunk setup because I drive a hatchback, lol

Pioneer~Saturn
10-09-2009, 10:22 PM

doesnt matter, as long as it isnt below the windowline then it isnt considered a wall..

bubbagumper6
10-09-2009, 10:28 PM
Ok I just read through all the bass race rules, but I'm still confused on what "music" you can use...db drag said specifically you could use store bought cd's or home burned cd's...

Also this might sound dumb, but can you start the song at like 15 seconds in? Like to avoid a quiet intro?

Pioneer~Saturn
10-09-2009, 10:38 PM
Yea, you can start it wherever in the song and as long as its a commercially available song then nobody will care what youre using

bubbagumper6
10-09-2009, 10:43 PM
Cool, thanks for the help. Might compete in the bass race. Doubt I'll go for db drag though, I would like to get metered at some point just to know how loud I can get, lol.

I was just looking at the rules, I could also be in the Street Stock class, my amps aren't over 2000 RMS, and I have 2 12s. The only problem is, I don't have a good way to turn up my volume outside my car... I only have a remote. The reason I'm saying this is because I'm pretty sure I'll hit over 140db and I'm not allowed in my car if it goes over 140db. Also, am I able to put my back seats down?

I dont know the specifics on street stock :( but if your subs dont have stamped baskets, then you wouldnt be allowed (they cant have cast baskets)

Db drag sounds more complicated than it is, like Rob said just show up early and Greg will give you some time on the meter and also sit with you in the car and show you how to bass race.

Being nice is the whole idea, we are trying to provide a "noob" friendly enviorment for you guys to get a taste of competiting in db drag and bass race.

It seems like alot of people are a bit intimidated by the whole thing and once you get into it you will see how laid back and relaxed it is. We are all out there just having fun and hanging out with friends that have the same interests.

It is really suprising how everybody helps everybody out.

Anybody interested in competing for the first time is eligible for "freestyle" class.

Freestyle - This class is intended for "first-time" contestants only. Typically, there are no rules in this class except that once you win, you must move up into one of the standard classes.

This is an excelllent opportunity for new competitors to come out show there stuff and not have to worry about being out done by any veterans.

nope... technically you have to be able to fold them back up without too much difficulty.

Looks like i'm bringing my expedition down...Got a little work ahead of me still but i'll be ready.

Steve mick said he'll be there, so we'll get to see a 159.9 bassrace run or two i'm sure.

In freestyle he will be fine to fold his seats down. In street class you need to be able to demonstrate that you can fold them up and the stereo system does not interfere with the normal use of the vehicle.

Well I could throw the sub in the box and run the bisch, but it's a PITA to put the box in/take it out and I haven't painted it yet...so it would be naked, which isn't a huge deal, I just don't want to have to take it out again :(
