View Full Version : Budget of $200, have 3 HU in mind, help me pick!

Kenwood KDC-x693
Sony CDX-GT630UI
Alpine CDA-9886

Been researching everywhere, reading reviews for a while ever since someone broke into my car and took my Jensen flip out. I was going to replace it with a double din HU, but decided to hold that off and stick with single dins.

I hear a lot of good about all of them, mostly the Kenwood here on this forum. The thing is I like all three of them equally right now. They all seem to offer good value for their price and look very attractive (especially the Kenwood).

So yeah... been trying to decide on my own but nothing really happened, I just ended up watching YouTube clips of people blasting their bass with these HU lol... Anyway, let me know what you guys think I should go with!

Also, I'm going to be placing an order online and the two places that I hear most people talk about is crutchfield and sonicelectronix. The price is lower with sonicelectronix, so I would probably go with them. But I just need some words of approval from you guys!

Thanks. :D

Have you considered Pioneer? I just got a 5100ub and I'm loving it. But of the ones you have listed I would go with the kenwood.

I have had a 9883, 9884, and 9886 and didn't consider any of them to be anything special. There are some decent mid level pioneers with good basic EQ and other features in your price range.

I use to have an Alpine CDA-9886 and I replaced it with a Eclipse 5100, about two weeks ago I replaced the Eclipse with the Kenwood KDC X-693 and I am glad I did, I like everything about the Kenwood more. It is just as good as the Alpine or Eclipse was for less money. This unit is stacked for the price. I say get the Kenwood kdc x-693 you will love it.
