I am looking more towards a Navigation head unit now. My question is which Headunit Brand has the best quaility navigation? I heard Alpines is terrible and it sounds like Kenwood/Pioneer are on the leading end. I am also looking at possibly a Dual brand. Please let me know what you guys think of those 3 brands for navigation, or perhaps you like another brand. Thanks.

Also I would like the unit to be a great unit all around of course too. Good sound quality.

Ya that is what I was thinking. It seems kenwood is on the best with navigation and bluetooth. Navigation by Garmin and Bluetooth by Parrot. Apparently those are the best.
Anyone know who builds Pioneers navigation and bluetooth? And is it just as good as Kenwood's?

ive owned pioneer, eclipse and now a kenwood dnx8120, and the kenwood is by far the best. had it now for a little over a month without one complaint.

are you buying it from crutchfield? for an extra 250 you can get the 8120 from a few other sites. has better preouts, eq, TA, built in bluetooth etc..... if you are running amps or plan to upgrade in the future the 8120 is probably one of the best HU's, definitely the best double din you can get right now.

This. I did not enjoy my Eclipse or Pioneer NAV. Kenwood has been installed for about 9 months and I love it. Garmin software can't be beat.

Kenwood I installed one a few weeks ago in a 370Z, best NAV "made by garmin" and best blue tooth "made by parrot" It is great and the sound quality was not bad either.

Can you update navigation maps in Kenwood units? There were lots of construction in Boston in last few years and i would really like a unit that could be updated. How "fresh" are the maps they ship these with?

i would recommend going with this unit, its alot cheaper and it has Navigation, Bluetooth, iPod, USB and it plays DVD's and CD's.

From what I have read I believe you just buy the updated disk for the garmins and insert it and it updates the internal memory.
