View Full Version : Memphis M3's

I was planning on building a box for 2 memphis M3's. My plans were to use 3/4" MDF. Box size is gonna be roughly 2.85 cu. ft. before displacements (roughly 2.0 after) I was planning on tuning it with an Aero to around 33hz.

My only questions are, as far as port area what do I need?

Thanks for any input

Memphis recommends 2.5-3.25 sealed
I'm getting that out of the Memphis tech resource manual
that's common chamber but one sub says 1.25-1.75 so I' would go bigger
I'm @ a shop that's a Memphis authorized dealer and have always had great results w/ recommended specs or bigger

does their M3 12" really call for 2.5? Wow, I have an M3 and Memphis box and before displacement it comes to like 2.1 cubes.

Do you think if I built my own that was roughly 2.5 cube after displacement tuned around 33ish aero ported would it be louder?

I know that last question is pretty vague and open ended, but if you have any idea what I'm talking about it'll make sense (i know dumb right?)

that's 2.5 for two subs minimum
3.25 max for two
i think it will be fine at 33hz would be better on a M1.1000
or even a PR1.1000 but since they're under powered i would go BIGGER than recommended small power+big air=big boom

Thanks alot man, I appreciate it. I actually have a friend that has a PR1.1000, that wants to trade me for my 500 straight out because he only has 1 M3.

I'll look into the amp a little bit and see if there is anything wrong with it, because no one would trade a 500 for a 1000 outright
