View Full Version : Loudest siren/horn

I just got a griot's garage magazine in the mail. On the back page there is a Italian air horn that is rated at 139db at 4 feet and 115db at 6 feet. All for only 39.95, comes with relay and mounting bracket.

Are there any other horns/sirens small enough to fit under the hood that hit higher dbs?

your pretty much going to be maxed out between 130-139.

well then that sounds like a d*mn fine deal for 39.95

It looks good too. A nice big red horn and black compressor in one

car alarms do between 130-135. some go up to 139 as labeled like that one.

many many sirens are 120 db ;)
but two of them is 123... even more are even louder...
same principle with horns ;) lol

Ya' I know someone who has one of those air horns; unlike the old ones where you had to install 3 different bulky pieces and do some crappy tubing work, the one pictured heir has everything built into one compact piece :) .

It's like this:

factory plastic horn: po po :bored: "boring"
Metal Air Horn: HONK :omg: "AHHHHHHHHH"

Yeap, car sterios are getting loader, and interiores are getting quiter....Would you rather get hit, or be heard? Its your choice, and for $40 :D

I was thinking of getting my systems SPL tested... my SECURITY system :) hahaha :thumbsup

it would be pretty sad (or pretty cool depending on how you look at it) if my secuity system was louder than my audio

do you think i should replace my factory horn with the air horn or just add it as a alarm feature?
