I was looking at these http://www.woofersetc.com/p7473/CSX-265--Rainbow-Dream-CSX-65"-2Way-Component-System.htm

I'm kind of interested in them but i was also looking at some CDT's and wondering if they are really worth the price tag?

I don't know much about the Rainbows but I put the same CDT set in my wifes car and sounds pretty nice and has held up well for over a year with 180 watts a side. But I think you would do better with one of these sets from woofers http://www.woofersetc.com/p1109/ES620--CDT-Audio-EuroSport-65"-2Way-Component-Speakers.htm or this one http://www.woofersetc.com/p5091/ES610--CDT-Audio-EuroSport-65"-2-Way-Component-Speakers.htm.I like the DRT 25 tweeter in the ES620's much better than the TW25 in the ES610's.You would be getting a lot better set of components and crossovers this way and drop the rear fill and the upstage. just my .02$;)

No you wouldn't. Rear fill is more of a detriment than anything, it's good for a little extra volume but not much good for any sense of realism. Forget the rears.

You should like both the Rainbows and CDT's, im using both brands myself and they sound great. Like the other guy said i would leave the rear out and put the cash towards the better set for the fronts.

i hate cdt speakers, have never heard a set i liked.

It might be the installs but none of them were even moderately impressive from there price point.

They're going into a large vehicle and all passengers will be sitting in the rear.

I need speakers back there.

a well set up front stage will be loud enough for the entire car.

What subs are you going to be pairing them up with, on how much power? And how much power do you have for your components?

buy 'em, try 'em, then let us know how it goes.

DD9512g's with alot of upgrades.

With either a Sundown 3000D or 3500D

Not really any power for the components right now, I have a random old school 2 channel DEI audio amp.

Go with these instead:

http://www.woofersetc.com/p7048/SLC-26525-NG--Rainbow-SLC-NG-65"-2Way-Component-System.htm

Nice improvement on the crossover and the tweets. Not sure about the difference in the mids, but the mids on the ones that I posted are pretty **** good.

Oh, and if 6spdcoupe (Don) still sells them go through him.

I was offered these used for $285 http://woofersetc.com/p7041/CS-26525--Rainbow-Germanium-65%22-2Way-Component-System.htm (http://woofersetc.com/p7041/CS-26525--Rainbow-Germanium-65%22-2Way-Component-System.htm)

Depending on what kind of shape they are in that is not a bad deal. The set that I linked to has basically the same crossover and tweeter. (There are some differences in the tweet, not sure if it would be enough to be noticeable).

Also, the Germs have a metal woofer. I kinda wanted the paper on the set that I linked anyway.

I had CDT's prior to Rainbows and there is no comparison, Rainbows blow them out of the water (SLC 265). CDT's were pretty bad actually, I would not recommend them

i run 2 sets of cdt gold comps up front
they sound good not great
i would NOT spend alot of money on front stage again

to me $250 per set of comps is as much as i would ever spend moving foward

if you can get rainbows new for less than $300 delivered i would go that route over CDT

at $220 i would give the rainbows a shot

if you place, power , and cross them over correctly they are gonna sound good

i never heard any negative feedback about rainbow
