Yeah I just put my first system together last December which consisted of:

pioneer deh-4000ub
infinity ref 6020cs comps
hifonics bxi1208d
2 x alpine type r 12"
custom sealed enclosure .85 cubes per sub (made by me at school with a CNC router :D)

It hits pretty hard and i am quite pleased with it, although i do know that it is quite nubby, but still not bad for a first system.

I've been stalking these forums for a couple months now and i have now decided to sign up.

not a bad system. Soon you will not be satisfied and will be asking for more. I don't think you are getting much output from the R's with that small sealed enclosure though. You could add several db just by making a bigger box and porting it.

hell ya, port them then you really be impreseed. 4 cubes at 32hz.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah i've been looking into building a ported box for my arghhhh's :D

The only problem is once i start designing it in sketchup i always am unsure about my design (like which sides overlap and bracing and subtracting port and sub displacement)

That, and i'm not exactly sure how much volume these things need as people say to give them more space than alpine recommends

Here is the most recent mock-up of the box in sketchup if anybody would like to give me some advice:

BTW my ride is a 97 Camry LE, i just recently did the big 3 with 1/0 welding cable, along with running it to the trunk.
