im running a memphis mc1000d with 1 12" fi bl... what would be the correct specs for the box? including the tune? im guessing somewhere around 35hz?

Probably 2.5 cubes at 32-36hz w/ ~30-35sq.in. of port Should do you just fine....

do you think that amp/sub combo would be ideal for some pretty hard hitting bass?

In a properly designed enclosure you should have some great deebeez for a single 12" driver...

also whats the difference between buying a regular ported box **** as this one :http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/1785354/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046 rather than getting one custom tuned?

You don't even know whats the size and tuning of that
enclosure is. That and building boxes is fun :)

i dont know why they dont state that on the site...
alot of prefabs are around 45-50 hz and sound like crap compared to a propely designed and built enclosure.
