I use all kinds of different music for tuning, with one common amongst them all. It's music that I know very well, and no exactly what it should sound like. :)

sorry...I can't spell....I can't read worth a poop either....

Tool wouldn't be top 5...

my top 5 would be:
1: Dire Straits
2:"Flight of the cosmic hippo" by Bela Fleck and the FLECKTONES
3:Michael Jackson
4:M.I.A
5:Tulsa Disk
:D
not knocking Tool but there is better stuff out there for tuning :)

I've listened to Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile (Right cd) so many times, that I rather like it. A Perfect Circle - Emotive is fairly nice too.

Steely Dan - Hey Nineteen
Steely Dan - Pixeleen

X2 Both of Steely Dan's last two albums, "Two Against Nature" and "Everything Must Go", along with Donald Fagen's last solo effort "Morph the Cat" are fantastic sounding albums.

Blue Man Group - AUDIO
Look for a WELL RECORDED(well engineered) CD to begin with. I look for something that has Strings, Brass and Woodwinds with properly recorded, unaltered vocals. Blue Man Group's stuff has WIDE dynamic range, quick percussion and instruments that run the gamut on range.
