What are the best sounding 6.5 comps in this price range? I'm going to sell my diamond hexes and get two pairs of another kind. I forgot what is good and what is not, lol.

PG RSD's are great if you like crappy tweeters

I reccomend pioneer premier TSD components, can be had on sonicelectronix for $104

what's wrong with the tweeters?

I might just keep my diamond hexes and just buy 2 sets of the pg's for $90 if they are as good as everyone says.

The RSDs **** ***. The Pioneer set would be a better buy. You get what you pay for and you can't reasonably expect amazing sound from a $40 comp set.

that's how i see it. I still haven't made my decision yet. Like i said, i just need two decent sets of comps because of the project i am hoping to have finished soon. I looked and they were $75 anyways.

they do sound good, but the tweeters are very bright. Plus, i don't have the correct crossover for them, so if i got another pair they would both be playing different frequencies..kind of. And, i don't want to spend $200 dollars on another pair anyways. I just need two pairs of decent components for my front doors, maybe around $100 each.

I have a few pairs of Fusion Powerplant 3-ways for 110 shipped. Really can't beat it for the money.

Cadence Cwm6

I actually had those Cadence and was not impressed with them, the tweeer was harsh and the set lacked midbass.

Um. Just cause something is cheap on sale doesn't automatically mean its junk. The retail on the rsd sets wasn't $40 originally so remark about getting what you paid for was ignorant.

No, it really wasn't ignorant. I know cheap stuff isn't always junk. Heck, I frequent slickdeals every day. However, I also know what this component set is capable of passively. I ran it for a months on plenty of clean power with the passive crossovers and much fiddling with EQ settings. Honestly, this set is garbage. Midrange is extremely harsh with metal music and the tweeters do not handle power as favorably as the woofers. With my listening taste, I find they are not suitable.

Holy cow, they're $30 cheaper now than they have been recently. Big deal, they still ****.

They may fare better active, but I really do not think that wooofer can go up to 3000 Hz on a flat EQ without being incredibly harsh. I think it may sound decent on a crossover at something like 1.6 Khz, but then the tweeter can't play that low so that's a moot point.

You will notice a big upgrade from the RSD's to the CDT's, the CDT have much more midbass, smoother tweeters, take more rms watts and produce more detail in the vocals.

One good set in the front is better than mid grade comps in front and rears. Frontstaging is what you want to concentrate on most.

Yea i really doubt 200 watts, i am giving mine about 100 with no problems and they are hella loud.

PG rsds are better then what else is out there for the money for the most part, still not fan. I used a pair of 100watts gains down low and blew a tweeter in 2 weeks. I replaced them with a Pioneer D series comp set and they sound amazing, turned the gains up a bit more and they handle it great. I suggest either go with Pioneer or CDT...

Well i have not had any problems with my speakers. Just wondering if cdt's would be a noticable upgrade.
