its got a 4 inch coil and is a dam strong sub im not surprised at all it out performed the l7 and w7...the mtx 9500 will outperform alot of the other big box companies big subs

The MTX9515 has a 4" VC. I would hope it handles more power than the kicker 2.75" VC and JL 3" VC.

Either way, it is still 'rated' at 1000wrms...the same as the JL and Kicker.
Both the JL and Kicker VC can easily handle 1000wrms, given it is a clean signal.

I used to be an MTX dealer (due to product quality vs price), but dropped the brand. The MTX9500 is a nice inefficient sub.
The only thing the MTX9500 has going for it is the brand's attempt to steal the name of the DD9500.
The only reason MTX named its 'flagship' sub 9500 was to try and copy the DD9500 name.
