it's almost like its molded on there. I know its not though because I went to alpine's site and it didn't show it.. Just got these today off of ebay from best buy dealer. Will it be ok?:confused:

looks like the cap (bass blocker) for the tweeter exploded. look at the bottm of the tweeter for a blown cap.

OP its just the glue they use at the factory to hold the tinsel lead to the cone it is normal. but type s? ewwwwwww
ohh, I thought he was talking about the little white fluff all over it. I have blown tweeters before on similar coaxiles, and it would leave a white paper fluff all over the cone from the cap under the tweeter.
but if he means the black tinsil lead epoxy...

Should he use a dremel tool to try to very carefully grind it off there before it does any real damage? I'd hate for it to get any worse ...
