I listen to rap. It like just clear and crisp sound. Budget is $650.

Rainbow Germs. Pretty good budget. Germs come in around 550 I think. Great sounding speakers too. What do you have for power?

i can't ever see myself spending anywhere near 650 bucks for a set of components. not even 150,.. maybe but not likely.

I'm running Image Dynamics CXS64 components and I really like them. I have 125w to each door and they get loud and clear!

One thing I like about the ID's is that the mids play full range. They sound great and have plenty of midbass.

Have you deadened and what not?

No, I have not deadened the doors. At the time, I didn't have the additional budget. I could always add it , right? So I thought I'd see if it sounded bad before doing that.

I can't hear anything wrong with it. No extraneous ratting. Not sure if it would sound *better* or not, but so far I don't have plans for adding Second Skin.

I'm going to add second skin solely (right now at least) for the purpose of getting rid of rattles created by my sub. My door panels over lap and they aren't really connected that well to my door so there is a lot of give room that leads to rattles. But this is mainly say about 45 hz and up.

I like my Hertz coax's, can't take as much power as my Arc's, but slightly better SQ.

I'd run those, but they want power. How much you got?
I would bridge a Sundown 100.4 on a pair or there abouts.
Also, if you travel where it goes sub-zero, you may have an issue
with the mlk's (I think it was the mlk's).

Seeing as you used the word crisp when describing sound you may want
to look at the k2p (or the new k-somethings?) as mentioned.

Ok right now the only choices that I see are the ddw-a and the hertz mlk.

Boston Pro's or Z's. Take a ton of power and are very crisp

For 650 i'd be looking at rainbow profi's...almost to vanadium cross territory there, or, you can try saving ~300 more and going with some power line cs's if you can accomodate them (they are 96mm/3.8 inches deep and use the same motor/basket as the vanadium 7" subwoofers ;)) - so you don't have to upgrade again... Assuming you have already deadened the **** out of your doors. If you haven't deadened your doors, don't spend 650 on components :)

The deadening is coming. Damp pro :veryhapp:

I'm going to foam in some places as well, like in the rear support bars that are hollow.
