I have an ID IDQ 12 D4 V.3 sub in a sealed box right now, I would like to build a ported one to try it out in.

ID recommends a 1.9 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz with a 4" round port 13.80" long.

The box I have room for can be no more than 35" wide and 16" tall, depth can be up to 14" or so. So if I have a box that was 22.5 x 14.5 x 10.5 (internal dimensions) that would give me 1.98 cubic foot box (sub has .05 displacement). What dimension/length would a square port have to be to be tuned to 28hz? The port would be 14.5" tall.

thanks for any help

** I was told you have to count the port as displacement as well so any help in designing would be appreciated. thanks!

someone linked me this site.

http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

What I came up with is 28" x 14" x 14" Port width 1.75" L1 11.5" L2 17" shows tuned to 28.8hz. Box is 1.98 cubic feet after port displacement. Sub is .05 displacement, giving me 1.93, close enough to 1.9.

This look okay?
