View Full Version : Trying to find a mid bass.

List some mid basses that you think perform well and sound good. I'm trying to see all of my options and then narrow it down. Not looking to spend a whole lot, but I'm not scared to dump out the cash either. The only thing is the woofer has to be a 6.5 and it will be put in a door, not in a box.

Well not sure if i will be going active or not. This is just a daily driver as far as how it sound. I have no mid bass at all, and I don't want to play mid bass through my components so I wanted drivers just for this purpose. I want to put them in my rear doors, in the factory location because I have no room in my truck.

Well in that case no, I won't be going active. I'll just be using the crossovers on the amp.

You get irritated to easily.

It won't go below 60-80 hertz and I'm not quite sure how high it will go (in terms of frequency). 200?

Bandpass you mean LP and subsonic filters used together?

you should ship JB your truck so he can activate it for you. then it'll be 100% perfectly on point. ;)

I have no doubt in my mind it would be.

But I like to learn while I work. Hands on experience is the best.

bandpass-Using a LP filter/subsonic filter on the lowend and a HP filter on the top end.

example:
LP @ 60hz and HP @ 200hz

Some amps and HU have the ability to accomplish this. Processors like the DSP6, BitOne, H701, H900, DCX-730, ARC IDX ect. will do it.

You may have answered this and I missed it. How much are looking to spend?

Yes I was planning to do that I just didn't know that bandpass was what it is called.

I'm really not sure how much I want to spend. I've seen prices from $80 to $600 per woofer just today.

My SL80s. I like more highs out of my components. It's just the way I am. My ears don't like it.

baffle? deaden/seal door?

it might be resonance from door panel and not the speakers that sound ******. or you might need to invest in q-tips for your ears.

holy HIGH-pass
