Gelcoat the inside and outside of your box. Try sanding the side pannels that you have in your hatch and your hatch pannel itself. Get them smooth as possible.
Build a box around your batteries and amps, sand it, and gelcoat it.

i dont know if it will help me if i deaden the roof once i put the headliner back up... i really dont want to spend $$$s on deadener and it lower my resonant or hurt my score... also the back hatch on an explorer and a jeep are made completely different and of different materials.. most of my hatch is fiberglass and well glass... the back window is huge... really my biggest problem is fusing.. if i can get a full roll off im over a 50 but right now my best score is high 48s...i can run two fuses to make 75amp.. :(
