Im needing a design for 4 15's in a wall in my buddies car and these are the dimensions i have to work with.

35" tall
49" wide
21-23" deep

He is also willing to pay for the design as well so just let me know.

Also he is trying to keep weight down so if you can figure out a way to keep the box not so heavy that would be great.

Use Birch ply to save some weight

use birch instead of MDF, aeroports instead of wood ports.

gonna cost a lot more doing it that way though.

I will also probably be using that, but I dont know, its at the vehicle owners expense tho cuz that **** aint cheap.

I got 19 cubes internal before port and sub disp. Probably make it shorter, drop it down to around 13 cubes net. Do a 10*10 port firing back at the bottom center.

I believe he's going to use some Pierce Audio 15's WMD series. I want to keep it in the 30~34hz region. Also this is just a quick setup I need to do and the subs were the only ones in his price range at the moment. I believe the specs for the subs are listed on the website

can you make it with the 21" deep and not 23".. he really doesn't want to move his seats forward

that gives you 17.9 gross volume

Ya just make it shorter and shallower until you hit 13 ish cubes net. I don't have time to sketchup something, just pen and paper.

terra do u think 10*10 is enough port area? i was thinking like 10*15

I've done 3 boxes with 10*10 port on up to 14 cubes net. Every single one has been insane, hairtricks on 1100 watts.
But since you have the space, yes I would maybe expand to 10*15. Keep it firing back in the bottom centered.

Also this is a wall and subs and port all have to fire forward. Port passenger side, driver side, on top etc....

That would of been great info to include at the beginning...
What vehicle?

Haha doesn't it look like 10x bigger with that for comparison?

I think I just completely skipped over the word "wall" in your post. My bad man, why does he want a wall?

I guess to have the only walled Ford Taraus in Colorado. Thats just what he's always wanted and the only vehicle he can do it in.

Even when I did a 2 12" setup he wanted a semi wall and it looked like this.

i come up with about 15 cubes useable after double face and 6 2x4's for bracing port and subs displaced 35x49x20.5 and a 10x15 vent 15 long tuned to 32.5

bassman_soundki
03-24-2009, 04:05 PM

Is there a way i can make it 2 seperate boxes and bolt them on top of eachother in the car?

bassman_soundki
03-24-2009, 04:35 PM
2 boxes each one is 17.5x49x20.25 port 7x10x18 tuned to 32.5hz

Sounds **** near what I was looking for. Thank you

bassman_soundki
03-24-2009, 05:05 PM
sure
port might have to change to a taller thinner one like 16x4.5 using side wall as port or lessen port area to shorten length

bassman_soundki
03-24-2009, 05:15 PM
port will be an L-shape 16 tall and 4.5 wide per box --port Length (1) 14.25" port Length (2) 1.25"
that will make an effective length of 20" tuned to 32.14 hz

Ah ok... Kinda confusing but I might be able to figure it out

Thanks again

like this except it doesnt take into account the bracing or sub displacement, so dont worry about the tuning on it being different

I saved it as an excel worksheet. Can you open that TnT? if so i can email it to you or something unless someone tells me how to post it here.
