View Full Version : Need advice on components/amp

Alright, I logged into eBay today and I have a coupon for 10% off my next purchase. I also have a coupon for $35 off my next purchase from Hi Fi Sound Connection, so I would like to buy the amp from them if possible.

The two amps I am looking at for my component speakers are the Kicker ZX200.4 (http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-08-ZX200-4-CAR-AUDIO-4-CHANNEL-AMP-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ310129206677QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ Car_Amplifiers?hash=item310129206677&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262) and the Kicker ZX350.4 (http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-08-ZX350-4-CAR-AUDIO-4CH-AMP-STEREO-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ130294037749QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ Car_Amplifiers?hash=item130294037749&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262). If there is a better amp in that price range (up to $200) for components please let me know, but honestly Im content with buying from HiFi Sound Connection and sticking with Kicker.

The component sets Im looking at are:
CL-41/19 - CDT Audio Classic 4" 2-Way Component Speakers (http://www.woofersetc.com/p6867/CL41-19--CDT-Audio-Classic-4"-2Way-Component-Speakers.htm)
CM341 - Diamond Audio 4" CM3 Series Components (http://www.woofersetc.com/p2911/CM341--Diamond-Audio-4"-CM3-Series-Components.htm)
SLX 210 Deluxe - Rainbow SLX 4" 2-Way Component System (http://www.woofersetc.com/p7076/SLX-210-Deluxe--Rainbow-SLX-4"-2Way-Component-System.htm)

or any other 4" component sets under $200 incl. shipping. At this point (as much as I want to) I'm not interested in putting 5.25" or 6.5" in the door, but that may come later. Which comp set and amp match up best, and will I be able to power 3.5s as well?

Basically I just need a 4" component set and amp to power them (and maybe some 3.5's) for around ~$300, but Im willing to spend up to $400, maybe $450 but that's pushing it.

My current setup is:
HU: Alpine iDA-x100
Sub: 10" Kicker CVT
Amp: Kicker ZX400.1
Wiring: Kicker PK4 4awg wiring

What all will I need to buy in order to put the second amp in my system?

I also would like to replace the 3.5" speakers in the rear, so recommendations on a decent pair under $50 that maybe I could hook up to the amp as well would be appreciated.

I wouldn't spend a dime on 4" comps. At least step up to 5.25's as it can't be that hard to make them fit...

car is a toyota mr2 not much space to work with and its in pretty good condition for its age (20 yrs old) so I dont want to go drilling holes in the doors, and would prefer to use the stock speaker location right now.

At this point Im not interested in putting anything over 4" components in there, but I may go bigger later (read: probably will), but I appreciate your input.
