I wouldn't run it.

care to elaborate , I have found one for pretty cheap. I was planning on building my own but between finding the perfect gear and building it its just not worth it to me.

My bad........ I thought this was a car setup

I still wouldn't though, but it will more than likely be fine for a HT setup.

It depends which series you get. The hgs series and the dd series are really nice subs. They play extremely loud, are super clean, and the processing in the dd series is very helpful in making your room sound good. They're cheaper lines are descent but I wouldn't say they're top quality like the hgs and dd's. I've had the velodyne hgs 15 and I liked it a lot but eventually I upgraded to the jl audio f113 home sub and so far haven't found anything that can touch it as far as sound. Are the velodynes worth the money? Well that's a matter of opinion. I think they're definatley worth the used price on audigon.com but I have a hard time paying retail price for anything...

Yes, I've got a 10" I bought years back when it first came out ($1000) and it still performs like new! Clean and deep for a 10. Im not looking to upgrade anytime soon as long as I dont upgrade to a bigger living room/house. :D

I have always wondered about the correlation between people who say something isnt worth the money and people who cant afford said item.

They are the original HT subs.

Excellent SQ.

I have used an FXSR 12 servo sub for 10 years in my HT.
