I'm planning on building a fiberglass box in my rear quarterpanels. I'm a little worried about the speaker magnets being too close to the metal.

I could probably drag out the physics textbooks to figure out the distance of a magnetic field from the sub, but I'm lazy so I just thought I'd hear some thoughts from people who may have delt with this before.

I'm worried that if the magnet is too close to metal, then the sub will lose power over time and my quarterpanels will become magnetized :(

Any thoughts? I'd probably be using 12" RE SE or SR's with around 2" or so of clearance.

Looks like they sell EMF shielding. Anyone used this before?

I dont think you have anything to worry about...people put subs/drivers next to metal all the time...look at midbass/midrange mounting...
