The germs and diamond hex's are nothing even close to alike. I have had both. I loved the Hexs and hated the germs. the germs wont get loud no matter how much power you toss them... They will just sit there and sound quite decent. The Hex's have the capability of making your ears bleed they also happen to sound good.... Lots around here love to bash diamond for some odd reason... There is a huge "hate the hex boner" that has been around this site for years now... I know listening to both sets probably isnt an option for you but it really depends on what type of sound your going for...

I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone say they couldn't make the germs get loud no matter how much power they sent them. That's just not true; either you had a bum set or a busted amp or a ****ed install dude.

germs are probably going to sound better. I have a pair of those exact germ mids, they are used. PM me if you want more info.

For CDT tweeters The ES-01 is best in my opinion. you can get them on madisound for about 15 a piece I think as well.

If you can be convinced to go active you can get some great sounding stuff off of madisound.
