No they still sound good. i turned the HPF up when i had the gain at about 185 w. not that i turned the HPF and the gain back down it sounds really good.

I had the truck in the garage with the windows down playing some country music. my brother was in the living room and when i walked in after some testing he said
bro-"are you done now"
me-"yea"
bro- "well good maybe stephanie can sleep now" (his GF).
me- "It aint that loud, i had my subs unpluged and was playing country music"
bro- "yea its shaking the house"
me- "bullshit"

her room is a good 50 feet away from the garage, he was right on the other side of the front garage wall in the den. i mean it sounded good maybe like i had a small low power sub, but i know it was not shaking the house. He is just a *****

IMO they sound way better with 100 watts or so. They came to life with the extra power.

Ive been thinkin bout ordering a set of the rsd's for my sc300 and running them off my cadence txa3004 or txa3002 butt you guys think it would be worth it to spend a little more and get the ID ctx's that ive been reading good things about?would there be a huge difference

Anyone ever went active with them. I'm not sure if I wanna use them with my sundown 100.4, I heard its easy to over power the tweets going active.

Thoughts?

Someone on the phorum experimented with em. If I remember right 70 watts active was the magic number. I ran mine with a mmats lm2125 ( more like 185 watts ) passive and they ran great.

because of where the gain is on his amp

birthsheet says 216 i assume, so obviously you just set that to 85.6% to get 185 watts :fyi:

tcguy85 went active with them I think.

I have heard them before, and I didnt like them. Maybe because they are bright tweeters. I think CDT's CL-61A comp set was much better, just my opinion though.

Its all about gain control, people just dont know how to do it... If you are feeding them that much power, one needs to back off on their tweet settings a bit.. Ive pounded a set into the ground for a year or so, and no issues..
