Its a scam, If you havent cashed the check, yet, call the cops, if you have DON't spend any of it. He's washing a bad check at your expense

The way that works is he sends you a check for what youre selling +2000$, you cash or deposit it, it goes through, you send him back 2000, then later on it comes up bad and youre **** out of 2000$. Tell him to go **** himself

yeah its total bull.... hes washing a bad check on you then you send him the difference because he "accidently" sent you too much money.

2. distant person offers a genuine-looking (but fake) cashier's check

* you receive an email (examples below) offering to buy your item, or rent your apartment, sight unseen.
* cashier's check is offered for your sale item, as a deposit for an apartment, or for just about anything else of value.
* value of cashier's check often far exceeds your item - scammer offers to "trust" you, and asks you to wire the balance via money transfer service
* banks will often cash these fake checks AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE WHEN THE CHECK FAILS TO CLEAR, including criminal prosecution in some cases!
* scam often involves a 3rd party (shipping agent, business associate owing buyer money, etc)

if you're gonna post on CL, at least read the **** :fyi:
