between the alpine 9887 and the pioneer 880, i would pick the alpine. the 880 has an easier to use interface, but the alpine sounds better in a drop in comparison imo

I really like the idea of a 16 band eq on the pioneer. I am trying to kill to birds with one stone and get a good eq that is built in also so I dont need to buy an aftermarket. Is this really ALL the good active decks out there???

THE CHEAPER THE BETTER as I am probably gonna have to go used for a higher end deck.

i traded my 9887 for an 880, i liked the 880. my friend bought a 9887 and it wouldnt fit in his car so i traded him the 880 for his 9887, and as a direct drop in the difference was very noticable. alpine hands down for sound quality, alpines adj. eq does just as good of a job as the pioneers 16 band imo
