View Full Version : Check my box...
This is for an HDC318 :fyi:
Out side dimensions-50.5 width x 20 height x 13 depth
L port will be cut in one of the 50.5 by 20 sides.
The port will be 18.5 x 5.25. The first port length will be 6.25 and the second will be 7.25.
If I new how to draw it and get it on here I would lol. I have it drawn on paper.

If I have a minute sure, it shouldn't take long. How big is the box supposed to be? What should the tuning be?

It's by the recommended specs (I hope)

I edited it and asked some questions. ^^^

Box is supposed to be about 6 cub ft, and tuning should be about 40 hz.
this thread title would be great for a ****.

I figured the expected port length to be 16.5" for a 6 cube net volume box tuned to 40 htz. Is that what you got? The gross size of your box is 6 cubes... There is no way you'll net 6 cubes after port and woofer displacement...
Newb... ;)

I was told that by someone (who runs aq and has been very loud with it) to make the box 6 cubic feet and then just make the port.

Well, that is great and all except you can't figure out port length unless you know what the net volume is supposed to be.
If you base your port length on 6 cubes net but your actual volume is 5 or so, your tuning will be way off. Compronde compadre?

That's what I thought :crap:
That box fit perfect.
How would 52x22x13 with 3.5" wide port with a length of 8.75"

I'm out of time. If I have time later I'll check it.
Or I could do a box with the port firing up.
52 x 14.5 x 22.5 with a port 8.5 inches wide on the 14.5 x 22.5 side with single port being 13.25.
