Of these two, which are better, Momo MMC690 or the MM691. I just missed out on the killer deal from an online source for the Momos so I want to know if the sucessors (691's) are as good or maybe a tad better.

Thanx,

Bud

Honestly, the DB's sound a LOT better than Momo's and the SR's are AMAZING.
The best by9 i have ever heard is a IDXS69

I find that hard to believe....and against everything I've read comparing the two lines.

I have no personal experience with the DB's but I installed a pair of Polk MOMO 690's in the front doors of my wife's '07 FJ Cruiser last summer. I heavily deadened the inner and outer metal panels and select areas of the plastic door panel. I also sealed the large door openings with sheet metal and/or thin plexiglass...with damping mat over those areas as well.

They're getting 80 watts per side from an old US Acoustics USX-2080 amp that I had lying around.

I've been a pretty big car audio nut for over 15 years and I'm not easily impressed...the 690's impressed me with their tight, authoritative midbass and crystal clear midrange and highs. I couldn't have been more pleased...and my wife loves 'em.

The 690's weren't a run-of-the-mill pair of 6x9's and the 691's appear to be very similar. I would be willing to bet that they sound fantastic.

Good Luck.
