is it worth it to port a box thats slightly under 1 square foot? because i thought it would only work on a larger box

It really depends on what kind of sub you have and if its poweful. 1 cube may not be enough airspace for a more powerful sub because once you port it you will have to have a large port or you will have port noise and larger port means lower frequency. Plus you need more airspace for a ported box. But you do have a 90% chance if not more of a chance for port noise.You can always port it then if theres port noise you can always seal or plug it up.

well its an image dynamics 12 with 600 watts going to it, the current box is smaller than the min. recomended box on there web site so how would i go about figuring out the port volume ect.?

well its not a pretty shape, i made a wall out of fiberglass that fits the contuer of the back of the cab(its in a regular cab pickup) and the front is a kind of volcano shape also made of fiberglass. so i guess it would be funky slot port ?
