Some pictures with the t-shirt stretched over it.

More progress at a later date. I have to go out to dinner tonight and I donít think my girlfriend would appreciate me smelling of fiberglass. :p

Lemme know what you all think!

Soaked that material with some resin about an hour ago. I'll take pics tomorrow when it's dry.

How come you didn't make it for the entire lower section?

There was a map pocket in the area that is missing on the door panel. Rather than remove the entire lower portion of the door panel, I just removed the map pocket.

Ya the map pockets are ugly. Don't know if you saw mine or not, it's the way most people do them. I used 1/4" hardboard cut to shape. Then you attach t-nuts to the board and the screws attach through from the back of the door panel.

Cool, I'll do that next time :p I'm happy with how they are at the moment to be honest, but I do appreciate everybody's input.

Update: Got some mat on it. I would like to put one more layer, then bondo and paint it. Some pics of it in rough shape:

Looking good. Is this your first fg project? What are you going to finish them with?

Yes, this is my first time ever fiber glassing. To finish it, I've got some spray paint that is the same color as my truck, so I think I'm just gonna use that. I wanted to cover it in some material, but nobody in this crappy town stocks what I want:crazy:

Oh yes. Luckily we have an orbital sander with a 60gallon air compressor :D

Final layer of fiberglass is on. Gave them a freaking good sanding. Body Filler will be applied on Sunday. Hopefully get them ready for either paint or material by the end of Sunday.

These are going slow, but there is progress being made. About 25% Driver's side pod, first coat of body filler on passenger side done today.

Also bought some Vinyl to cover these with today. Updates probably not until next weekend.

Did a LOT of sanding, got it almost perfectly smooth, not that it's important (wrapping in Vinyl), but I'm still happy with myself.

One pod is ready for Wrapping. Waiting for my second layer of Body Filler on the other pod to dry, so I can sand it. Hopefully have them both ready to wrap by the end of the day.

Vinyl will still show uneven surface imperfections. It's just a little more forgiving with pinholes.

Look good by the way. Keep sanding lol :)

See the corners around the pod where you can still see the door panel in the little square pocket? If you want to take those pods to the next level. You need to tape up the door panel in that area, and fill it to the lip of that square ( some call it bondo matching). It will make the pod flow better with the surrounding panel. It will also make it look as if the pod was there from the factory as it fits the lines of the door panel perfectly :)

I was planning on it. Whether I do or not just depends.

Well, I've gotten both pods to the same state now. I'm gonna give them a final sand, make sure there's no obvious bumps or dips, and get them ready for wrapping.

Just pull the trigger. If you wait, it's gonna be a while.

It's slowly been going up over the past couple weeks. I'm just wanting another cent or two, because that makes a pretty big difference with large orders. I only wish our dollar was still at $1.07 USD:crap:
