I hooked up two 10 inch subs and 1200 watt amp in my truck. I tested them to make sure they worked by connecting the remote wire directly to my battery temporarily. Everything worked fine. Then I tried to connect my remote wire to the back of my head unit, but this would not power my amp. So i spliced into the blue/white wire in the back and connected that to my remote wire, but still got no power to my amp. I spliced into the red wire in my wire harness running from my battery and connected that to my remote wire. This finally powered my amp, but when I turned my head unit on, it would play the CD, but no sound came out of any speakers. I un-hooked the subs from the head unit and tried it again and still no sound out of my cd player. I disconnected my battery and checked my fuses. Does anyone know why I am still not getting any sound?

Thanks,

Aaron

so are you saying.. when you hooked up the remote out to the HU it wouldnt turn on but if you connected it directly to a 12v source it would?

and when it did turn on , there was sound from the speakers?

What head unit do you have. My Eclipse will not play if you use the antenna wire as a REM wire ;)

yea when i hooked up my remote out to my head unit from my amp, I didn't get any power to my amp. But hooking the remote out directly to the battery would run my amp and subs fine.

do you have any other amps running off that rem wire?

na i only have a 12oo watt amp hooked up for my subs. I drive a 1995 Ford Bronco, so there might be a stock amp somewhere. but other than that i dont have any other amps hooked up.

Either find the right rem from your HU, or wire it into a fused/switched 12volt source in the fuse panel.

that will power my subs, but my regular speakers don't work.

odds are you're using the wrong wire... sure you arent hooking it up to like the power antenna or illumination or something lol

i need to get my regular speakers working right now, before i hook up the remote wire, because right now no speakers work in my car.

that will power my subs, but my regular speakers don't work.

so the 1200 amp has nothing to do with your speakers not working?

ya, you lost me.
So do the speakers work and not the sub, or sub and no speakers, or both?
