I keep looking at DVD in-dash players and I think its time to finally experience one. Detachable face plate is highly favorable (hella thieves where I live), good EQ options, must have front/rear/sub preamp outputs, able to wire up and play while driving. I'm basically looking for good SQ, crystal pixel screen, and simple to use for an intermediate car audio user. Will be running it with 4-ch speaker amp with front stage components and rear fill along with MB Quart sub. Looking around the 600 range brand new but prefer best bang for the buck type deal. What does CA.com recommend?

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT (GPS, but no removable faceplate) or JVC KW-AVX810 (no GPS, but has removable faceplate).

I would definitely say the avic f900bt or f90bt. I just got mine and it is an awesome piece for a very good price. Plus if you would like to mod it at all the the f series is the only way to go.

I have a Honda Civic and currently running a 1 DIN mp3 player. Are there special tools or parts needed to make a 2 DIN fit?

JVC NX5000 ...it runs around that on EBAY...it has a built in Hard Drive for storing your music...Navigation....Nice EQ and XO features...great pic quality...vehicle diagnostics....nice IPOD control...fits in a DIN slot with over size face...I'm thinking detachable face ...

that looks like an awesome deck but crutchfield says it doesn't fit my vehicle. :crap: just about all the good DD and single dash dvd's dont fit aside the pioneer 5000 model. on top of that, the local car audio shop wants $250 for labor alone to install a DD in my car

Good call on the Premier version having higher voltage pre-outs and including the iPod cable vs. the standard. Might be worth the (small) extra cost to the OP.

I narrowed it down to these two: Pioneer F900BT and Pioneer Premier F90bt. A local shop is having a blowout for the f900bt for $550 brand new and the only place I can find the Premier cheapest is sonixelectronix for $650 + CA tax (free install kit included). After tax, it totals down to $700ish with a legit warranty by sonix.

Is the extra $150 worth for the extra preamp voltage and ipod hookup?

Anyone out there with a Honda Civic running a double-din? How was the fitment?

The iPod cable is 55 bucks alone so, keep that in mind.
