Well I'm lookin to try some new programs out. Anyone got any they want to share. I was using an excel program but it doesn't work with vista so I'm lookin for something new. Reccomendations or downloads. I have looked at winisd, not sure which one to use too. Also I wish audioque gave all the specs on their hdc3's, as it would make some programs easier

as in design or actual box calculation software?
for designs i and alot of others use Google Sketchup.
as for box calcs i use a number of sites to calculate my air space and tunings.

I can picture the box well, just lookin to get the specs...I can draw the rest on paper

It's not hard to find volume and port length by hand.

yeah i can do math no prob, and volume sure....not bout how to calculate the port tho for tuning and how it relates to the volume....is there a link?

i use http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31
people are silly to use a CAD program on something so simple.

If money is no problem this seems to be a very good program:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=500-912
You could even start up your own box design business :)

I used RE enclosure calculator to get a general idea, and then go from there and redo the calculations by hand (i've found that re enclosure isn't completely accurate)
Everything is simple geometry calculations except for this:
Fb = .159*sqrt((Av(1.84*10^8))/(Vb(1728)(Lv+.823*sqrt(Av))))
(i think i typed that out right)
Fb = frequency
Av = area of port (in^2)
Lv = Length (in)
Vb = box vol (ft^3)

I also put the equation above into excel and made a port length and port frequency calc from it.
I can upload it somewhere if you want...

yeah I'm a little confused by the equation, but I think I just need to look at it a lil more
That would be much appreciated if you could send the excel document to me. If you want you can email at darinschafer@hotmail.com
