I'm about to buy my peerless exclusive 7" 8ohm midwoofers.
Then I notice that the Morels are on sale.

I have not researched the Morel, what do you guys think.

These are both 8 ohm mids.

Morel $89 each

Peerless $63

Either would be paired running active with the SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G

Help me pick a mid.

Location and enclosure type; we need to know both. That's just for starters.

This picture sums it up. A pillar tweeters, lower door mids.

I'm going to try to incorporate the LPG angle mounts in the A-pillar to make the SEAS tweeters slightly less off axis.

I'm looking at starting with a 2800 to 3200 xover point active off the HU.

Asking a 7" woofer to play to 3k is a lot. Looking at the graph of the Peerless on axis, you're ok...but your driver's side mid is at least 60* off-axis.

You'll have to look up the FR data on the Morel.

As far as the low end goes, the Peerless needs a .3 cubes vented to get an F3 of 55 hz. The Morel's better suited for an IB door install as it likes a .6 vented cubes for an F3 of 50 hz. Figure your door at 1 cube? Also remember those are figures for a properly designed ported enclosure which you're probably not going to build.

Plug in the figures for both and see how the stack up: http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=newdriver

Slammed tried to put the peerless 7"s in his altima and they would not fit.
Maybe I'll just go with the Mach5's and deaden.
