Can anyone make or post a how too on making various size woofer rings out of MDF??? I want to start working with fiberglass when I have some spare time and I want to just get a bunch of rings and go from there...I've played with two or three just goofing around and I liked it, but I bought them pre-made and it will get expensive doing that. Plus, I've not really used a router much and want to learn more about it and uses for car audio...I want to either build or buy a routing table too...Any pics or help would be great

I use a jasper perfect circle jig. I bought it at partsexpress. But Mr. mike offered up a pretty usefull plan for a jig.

To make the rings just cut the outside diameter first. Then the inside. viola perfect circles. :)

You ever seen those whole saws for cutting out door knobs. Somebody needs to make a subwoofer size one of those things :D :)

that would be crazy expensive to find one that big, plus it wouldn't be adjustable...only holes for a 10, or a 12, or a15 inch speakers....

actually, I went to this car audio show, and festool had a booth. ****, they were expensive. THey are also awesome. Anyway, they have a router compass ruler that would cut a perfect hole using a router for the 34" audiobahns with ease. Seriously, festool has a compass that can cut 1 meter in RADIUS (2m diameter). The hole would be so large, there's no MDF panel available in the mass market that can take the full size.

This is what a router cutting a hole looks like:

the plexi compass ruler on this pic can cut up to 15", anymore and you need to use the 1m compass, or make one of your own.

P.S. Did I mention festools were awesome?
