Was wondering if these head units are decent. Im looking at the VM9311TS model. it looks nice and the price is really good.

not so much. if you want sq, reliability etc stick with alpine, eclipse, pioneer, and those.

Other than DVD playback and touch screen, it has fewer features than a lot of $100 radios out there. No RDS, 2-band EQ, 2v pre-outs, and it's discontinued. For the same price, or cheaper, you could get a DEH-P500UB or CDA-9884, and get better features all around. You'll lose the motorized touch screen (which always breaks on most Jensen/Phase Linear/Dual/XOVision), and DVD playback, but you'll get much better quality and EQ options, and with the Pioneer, 4v pre-outs.

K, thanks for the fast responses. Does the 4 volt make a big difference over the 2 volt pre-outs? Im just wanting to upgrade from my HU to something i can use my ipod with.

Bad reason to care about pre-out voltage... But I find there is some background hiss when I use my IPOD music that it not amplified as strongly on my 4 volt Alpine as it used to be on my 2 volt.

There not a bad head unit for the price but remember you get what you pay for. If I were you I would save up and get a alpine.
