Well it's not like the warranty matters anyway (for me, since I'll end up installing it myself)

I also have a 5901 but haven't installed it yet. I got mine brand new but I notice a "rattling" noise inside the control box ("brain unit") when I shake it lightly. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if they hear the same rattle in their 5901?? My buddy got a 5701 recently and I did not hear anything loose sounding in his at all, but it's also the older system. I need to know if it's ok to install or if I should return it for another one. Thanks for the reply!

the 5901 isn't as bad as the 5701 by a LONG-shot. 5701 has had major issues.

how is the viper 5900 failure rate looking at getting one for $173 shipped. I am having it installed by someone and dont want them to install a non working unit, then after installing it find out it doesnt work. I dont want to pay to install something not working and have to pay them to uninstall it and reinstall a new working one.

Looking to purcahse from this website. Any negatives about this website

how long have you had it? Not all of them had issues, just most of them. Especially the remotes.

I've had it installed since I guess the end of July. I had a slight problem with the remote about 2 weeks after installing it...but it was just a dead battery. Replaced the battery and haven't had a single issue since (knocks on wood:D).

I've been thinking about getting one, is it worth it? I mean I have an 03 deville and the only thing I wish I had was remote start, does this alarm support this feature?
I looked around online, but too expensive, however my friend recommended me to Pacific Stereo in Riverside, CA, they sell the Viper 5901 for $229. May be worth checking them out.

I have a 5901 for sale with proximity sensor, tilt sensor, LED bar, and i dont remember what its called but it has the mic that knows when glass breaks.. I had it for a few months and its long story but it had to be uninstalled before i could get my truck worked on at the GM dealership. they wouldnt touch it with that wired in so i have it all in working condition... 10/10 cosmetically and functionality.. 275 shipped.. Let me know if anyones interested i can get some pics to you.. Installed and uninstalled professionally.. have receipts... was over 600$ just for the alarm and addons let alone install fee...
