well i am ordering a pair of quad coil 12" Axis's tomorrow and will be porting these in my wagon.... i used to run my old 15 sub up port back, should i do the same for 2 12's, or do i do sub back port back?
also these only need like 2 cubes or less right? tune to 30hz im thinking
anyone wanna do a design for me by any chance i would be grateful once the subs arrive i will build the box and start bumpin.

Max dimensions?
Id stick with subs up port back. AP recommends 1.2 - 2.1 cuft ported.

max dimensions is:
37" wide
21" deep
height isnt a problem especially with the enclosure these need shouldn't be too big

sub and port back, port cenetered between the woofers.. anywhere from 1.5-2 is ideal.. 30 is plenty low.. most music never goes under 40hz most, maybe 1 out of 10000 songs drop below 35hz..f3 should be around 26-28 with that aligment.... sub up port back does good for burping.. spreaing the woofers the width of the cabin helps pressurize the cabin as a whloe instead of tring to pressurize the dash...

do 4.5 cubes, 30-32hz tuning, around 80-85 square inches of port, and give it lots O' powa :fyi:
you will thank me later

Alright, here's one for both of them...It isnt perfect because it isnt tuned as low as you wanted :(
But it comes to:
-2.12 cubes per sub, net
-39.375 sq inches of port area per sub
-Tuned to a hair under 33Hz

at like 44lbs i should double baffle for sure right?
Pioneer~Saturn
12-24-2008, 04:57 PM
I usually like a double-baffle with my subs or you could put some bracing on the back of the baffle and it'll do pretty much the same thing

a couple people in the past day have told me to just run aero ports, and have no port noise, and it would sound better and probably be a hair louder
spy told me you box designers actually run a probgram to see what size works best and what not?
i just wanna know if i should just run 4" aero per sub and cut to my length for tuning
thanks members,
matt
