if a subwoofer maker gives specs on a subwoofer box is it a good ideal to live by it when making your box mine is going to have 2 18" subs in a10cube net before dissplacment with a 100sqin port 4x25" tuned to 31hz 21.5"long
i know i need 8 cubes after dissplacment the subs are taking up 0.62 displacment so this puts me at 8.62cube how much more do i need to add for the port and do i keep it 100sqin like treo is telling me heres a pic but it is 10.06 cubes subs up port back lmk what you think the port in the pic is more then 100sqin but i can fix it if i need tohttp://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj39/mazdasplfi/Fast852pic3.jpg

The box you have shown is 10.87ft^3 before any displacement. With the 25" x 4" port you want, you'll have a hair under 9ft^3 after port/sub displacement. And you'll be tuned right around 31-32hz like you want.

ok thank you i need 8 cubes after diss so can you add 8 cubes and 0.62 for subs and the 100 sqin port 21.5"deep and give me the total number i need i think 9cubes is going to be to big so can you do box sub and that port and give me a target number before the dissplacments thanks

i personally would shoot for a bit more port area, but i personally like lots of port.

That box will work fine though.

yea treo says 50sqin per sub so i was trying to keep it to spec for 2 subs 100sqin if anyone thinks i need to go bigger then i need to know thanks

The way it sits with 9+ cubes will be more than fine. You can "bend" the recomended specs a bit.
