Hi guys.

Just bought another car and looking to do a very very very budget job for better sound. At this point, anything will be better than the 15 years-old + speakers. I want some advice for PROVEN good sounding components for no more than $120.

Thank you.

Steven

Awesome response, guys! I too have heard nothing but good things about the RSD's. I guess that's what I'm going with. Besides, at that price, what have I got to lose?

As for the Eclipse CD7000, it's an awesome headunit. The control knob is a bit finicky as it's pretty sensitive. Gets annoying, but suppose you just have to get used to it.

I ran the RSDs for a bit. They were nice, though i wasnt a big fan of the tweeter. I would go for the Pioneers mentioned.

Can you elaborate on the issue with the RSD tweeter?

Anyone else have an opinion or want to throw in other options? So far I have a lot of people for the RSD and one for the Pioneers which are roughly double the price.

I had the RSD and they burned out fast, Check out the CDT Audio CLS60A comps for 99 bucks shipped. The CLS60 have much better midbass, SQ and power handling.

Powerbass s-series the best budget component I have been selling them for 3 years with yet a problem, and best yet everyone is blown away by the sound.

That Cadence CWM6 kit is very good for the money...I preferred them to the RSDs personally. I really dont think you can go wrong with any of these sets.

$87?!
OUTRAGE!

$60-70.

I installed a pair of Phoenix Gold RSD 6.0c's into my ex's Integra.
I have to say, for the price, I was impressed. Her muffler rusted / fell off, or something. And these speakers drowned out the engine noise. While not amazing sounding, I recommend these as a budget component set.

You might also want to think about getting a nice pair of Coaxials instead.

Loved my Pioneer Premier 720c D series set. Very smooth midbass and the tweet wasn't over bearing or too mellow. I will probably go back to those with my next setup again.

I believe they had them selling right at 100 smacks on newegg.com.

I paid 120 for mine on another site.

Leaps and bounds better than the RSD's, which I have also had.

Haven't heard the CDT's but the ARCs off of 50wrms dropped into an accord door with no prep job sounded **** good. :veryhapp:
