Sooooooooooooooooo I went and got me a never run '05 RE XXX 18. My only problem is the sub is GIGANTIC for my trunk. Would infinite baffle be a viable option in this situation? If not can I possibly get some suggestions on what box to run. I know an 18 is too big for a trunk car, but I wanted to see what I could do :veryhapp: I got a MD2D running the sub and a MD22 running boston pro60s, both those amps have to fit back there too. Help me out!

your car is ugly :/

though, an 18 in your trunk is doable. i recall some kid with a red stank of your model(non-saleen) fit an mt18 in the trunk of his. i beleive he was able to slide it in and out of the rear seat.

you have a sports car no need for a back seat, build a custom enclosure there, and if some has to have a ride you always have the trunk.

18" too big for a trunk car? I've used em before in my '01 Accord sedan. Firing upwards helps.

no need for an an 18 or 15
1 12 or even 1 10 would be plenty of output you want to put all that weight onto that car and just be loud and obnoxiuos sq>spl

Ok so you can cram a bunch in a trunk, but is it loud?.

In general an 18 is just to much to cram in average trunks. If you do, its usually not a optimal set up. Why not just recone the XXX to something more manageable?

I find a single 18 to be very easy to get into a trunk as long as you don't have a convertible or the likes of something with no trunk space. 18" BTL is ridiculous with 6-8 cubes, which is pretty easy to get out of a trunk if you build inside the trunk when you go near 8 cubes. Maybe me and everybody I know just have huge trunks though?

I'm gonna agree partially, the subs and box look great, but that rear deck.. :crap:

Just because you can cram it in a trunk doesn't mean its optimal. You could really just be choking off the trunk from the cabin. Ive seen it many times before, and every car is different. I do know for a fact that a mustang trunk is tiny, and that would be a disaster set up.

What you call ridiculous, i may find quiet / unacceptable for the given equipment.:)

the old mustangs are easy...the new ones you have to deal with a hump in the trunk...at least you have a flat floor to work with

Can't choke it off when you fire it forwards and port it forwards while sealing the trunk off ;)

I doubt you would call an 18 BTL/MT/whatever in 8 or 9 cubes off of 3-4kW in a trunk quiet for the equipment though, but like you said the car plays a huge role. :)

Sealing off the trunk from the cabin is a whole different story. If that was the case, then it doesn't matter what you cram in their, as long as its the correct size etc.

one of my buddies has a GT i'll look for pix, he has a 9515 in it with a box VERY similar to the treo set up, and has a USAMPS3000D mounted under his trunk lid, its pretty nice.

The Saleen Mustang is by far my favorite. A kid I went to school with had 2 of them. As far as your sub goes, I don't see you getting it in the trunk. I know how small the Mustang trunk is and your best bet is to either wall it or go with something that will fit in the trunk.

Beautiful car BTW! Is it blown?
