Hey all, hows it going tonight?

Well next year, I'm getting out of the SPL scene and going to more SQ orient the car. I'm going to run 2 component sets, preferrably the same sets and I want to run them off of a SAX 100.4. And run a SAX 100.2 and have that power a pair of 6x9's.

My question is....whats a good component set, around say $250.00 or less? Not looking for the higest quality, but I don't want something cheap either...something in the middle...preferrably a silk dome tweeter..

Any suggestions? And how much more sound do you actually get if you deaden the doors and such? Depending on how much more sound you get, I may deaden the doors, as my trunk is the only thing deadened..

And 2ndly, where are the QPower kicks sold at? I don't wanna build my own, and people seem to be having pretty good luck with them.. :)

CDT's look OK in my honest opinion....I know a guy that runs the Neo Comp's of CDT and they sound ok...but could be better..

Any others I should look for.. ?

I'd like to stay with my DD's but I want something different....new year brings new gear.. :)

Yea, this is the set my friend Brian Lowezy has in his van. They sound ok, but I want something a little better.

I like them though..

Does anyone know where to get the QPower kicks, or does anyone build cheap custom kicks for 6.5's + tweets?

i have the cl-62cf series very good set for only around 200 bucks or so rated for 160 rms giving them 175rms per side taking it with no problem xover at 80hz and they get loud and keep up with 1500rms on 2 12's ported right behind me in the back seat, and at any vol very detailed and crisp speakers and no distortion at all

and also dont buy from woofersect go through exige on here gives u better tweets and xovers and better prices

and for kicks ebay has q logic kicks for most vehicles but you can get a custom set made for around 200 or less

The user Exige.. ?

I don't deal with E-Gay..:p: Maybe someone on here might have some for sale..

I'm thinking about doing the HSK 165's..or the Morel Tempo 6's or the CDT's.......

Iwant to be able to crank it as loud as I want, when I want and have crisp clear music, with 0 distortion. I'm figuring, 2 Component sets and a pair fo 6x9's should get it done nicely.. :)

well my cdts dont distort at all even was at one time on accident somehow my gains got bumped up to 250rms per side using a 1k test tone and amp is only rated for 175rms per side even though its a kicker so prob can do 200 clean so we sending them 50-75rms clipped signal and around 100rms over rating and never had a problem with them and they still sound perfect i was scared i hurt them but nope nothing wrong, even when clipped they still had no distortion

I am really glad I swapped from the HSK to the Morel Tempo 6... I have heard the CDTs personally @ a local meet and the guy now wants Tempo 6s lol.... Keep the Tempo 6s on your list... They will make you happy for the little price increase.

Look for a bunch of Tempo 6 reviews soon... A lot of my buddies also just swapped for Tempo 6s...

I havent heard them honestly. but i know i wouldn't purchase another hsk165 for over 150 bucks. Ur more then welcome to listen to them. Dont get me wrong it sounds good just not what i expected

Did this in my "Hoe" last week. both box boxed up and sealed

Are the HSK165's that bad or what? Not a lot of people are speaking highly of them...

Sorry I cant offer any real info^

I'm in the same boat, I was looking at Tempo6's or HSK165 or maybe even 163's. Everyone was raving about them (hsk165s) a few weeks ago like they were the best thing on earth, now it seems like no one has anything to say about them and morel is the new flavor of the week.

I wont pay more then 150 for them, if even that. but hey, thats me. everyone to their own opinion. i do like their tweets tho

I'm buying some 6.5 sub woofers to make up the difference. just dont know what yet

that's your problem, give them double the power and they will sound amazing. :)

i never under power speakers, it just makes them sound way too muddy for my tastes.

They prolly sound amazing to ur ears.... NOT MINE. And yes its a problem i must fix.

i dont under power my stuff either but this has an exception... the amp that was gonna be used went to the shop so i stuck an amp from under my bed to them. The amp thats gonna be used well be pushing those and some subwoofers (8" or 2 6.5)

I've been trying to explain this to people lol... Its worth it to upgrade to the Morel tempo 6... Its not that much more ~10-20 per set...

We swapped out like 5 sets among just my buddies from HSK to Morel Tempo 6 and they are in aw....

I'd like to listen to yours..you gonna be at the last Fort Worth show? Maybe get a small listen to them..

I like my DD's, just want to change it up a bit.. so does anyone local have the Tempo6's?

The CDT's dont look half bad either, as well as the Treo componenets...I've heard the Treo componenets and they sounded **** good, but they come with a price tag too..:crap:
