it's a QSC rmx-850. I'm thinking I might be able to as long as I keep my gain set back some. Its only used for HT use, not being used hard for long periods of time. Is it a wise idea, or should I just keep it at 4 ohm.

it allready has a fan. More than enough room around it for air flow. And it's not like it's going to be pushed to it's limits. But you never know.

If you look at the QSC website it is rated stereo at 2 ohms. :fyi:

Personally I wouldn't run it at 2 ohms bridged.

But I am sure if you watch the temperature of the amplifier it will be fine. You just have to remember to generate power at lower impedance you need more current.

Just estimating that max voltage out is 69 Volts (produce 600W into 8ohms) and maximum current is 14.4 amps (830W into 4 Ohms) knowing current is the limiter at 4 ohms we can assume the limit is the same at 2 ohms. So, P=R*I^2 assuming 14.4 Amps is the maximum output current the amplifier will only produce 414 watts at 2 ohms bridged.

So as long as you are running it below 414 you should be ok. Maybe. If it blows up don't blame me.
