What should I use to built an amp rack on the sides of the trunk and how thick?
Any tips are also welcomed

all depends on design.. but 1/2" mdf, or any board will do, but that worked real nice for me.. fiberglass, emm.. i dunno, might take way to long and to much effort to make it perfect.. depends on apllication most of all though..

I used 1/2" MDF and carpeted it black with WalMart trunk carpet:

Give an amp somwhere do be mounted rather then just sitting on the floor or being attatched to the sub box...

Plexiglass, MDF, Hardboard, Fiberglass, assorted metals, actual glass,etc. There is a miriad of things that can be used depending upon the application. Thickness is also dependant upon the application, weight of the components being mounted upon it, and the type of material you choose to use. The stronger the material the thinner you can get away with. :)
