I have a competitor pass (gets you into the competitor party, can go into the lanes, a shirt, lanyard, and some other ****) for sale for $50 if anybody wants it.

DBDRAGGUY
09-28-2008, 01:15 AM
Just paid my entry fees:wallbash: kinda ***** with all the $ I have shelled out this year. 20 competitions,6 certified events and all the money spent on fuel. It is safe to say I am a bit over budget. And now Another $600 for the weekend of the finals. :crap:

Next year I think i will do less shows and spend more on the equiptment and the build.

Luckily indy is only a 2 hour drive for me.

Hotel split 4 ways and somebody buying my extra competitor pass helps as well.

All in all I'm probably gonna be out around $400 (depending on my alcohol consumption  ) when it's all said and done. :(

I'm trying to understand how one can be the best in the world.......

I assume it is you sign up, do a bunch of events and your best scores are compared to those of competitors around the world.

Or something like that.

64 in db drag so far.

35 for bassrace. 6 guys in 159.9 which should be fun. :)

Or something like that.

Here's how it works.

You have regional, national, and world finals.

5 different finals locations. Laughlin, indy, france, germany, and italy.

each location has a regional event. One person becaomes the "regional" champion

Winner of laughlin and indy go head to head for the "national" championship.

The winner of that faces the winner of the national championship in europe.

Thus, you have a WORLD champion. :)

Got it.....

So if you are at that point you got sponsors and all of that right? I'm just wondering now, how would the winner get himself and the automobile to europe.

And this **** is more serious than I thought. More than just being louder than the guy next door.:D

I would have just liked to see two guys do 159.9's. Would be the first perfect score tie in 159.9 that i'm aware of.

Thats the excitement of bassrace. Anything can happen at any time. Mick was just a little too quick on the start.

Its a shame that Steve redlighted out but so did Frankie. It would have been awesome to have a bigger 59.9 bracket, but that's what makes BR so interesting. Its not about the money you have in it.It also takes skill(which they all have)and any joe can get into a class and be the next world champion on a little mistake like red lighting.

And yeah I was over in the demo area when Tommy,Frankie,Mike Hughes, and Randy were playing. The lexus is just SICK!!!Tommy's truck sounded so clear it was rediculious. And Randys van was crazy loud.I loved the floating beach ball!

i know steve pretty well.. i know he's a better bassracer than that.. Considering i've probably ran against him 4 times this year... and tied him more times than i can count. I've NEVER seen him red light. Thats ALL i meant by what i said.

Maybe its because waynes meter's starts were significantly different than sams or any of our's? I don't know if any of the other judges meters do that but ready lasted at least 3x longer than anyone elses meter that i've been on.

It obviously was messing people up.... considering how few ties there were. Hell i tied tommy 3 times last time i ran against him at slamology.

I to had problems with the long pause between ready and set. I red lighted both of my practice runs friday night, and had to watch a few qualifying runs to make the adjustment Saturday.

I made sure to not go until "set" was announced by the termlab voice.

Usually it meant that I had to turn it up a little bit to compensate, but I sure as hell wasn't gonna redlight. :D

I will agree that the "ready, set, go" was EXTRA slow at finals for some reason.

And there's an interesting thread on termpro about WF. Apparently the guy I went against from europe didn't have the necessary points to compete in the national or world event, but somehow he made it all the way through.

"Bring it"

if there are any ?'s or tips i can give you, id be glad too.

if you cant get any practice runs in wherever you compete, redlight your qualifier and let it rip the whole time, that way you know if you can even run a 49.9

Because if you cant run a 49.9 on a redlight, then you cant run it on a perfect start either.

x2 on that. If you can't get up to a 152-153 on music then 149.9 is going to be pretty much impossible unless you get a dead on perfect start every time.

uhh....ok

I am referring to the fact that everytime we go to world finals (or any major show that Tommy is at), we had to rebuild at least 12 of his subs. This weekend, we had 2 sub failures. NO sub failed due to a coil loss, spider tearing, glue releasing, or ANY of the reasons the old subs did EVERY SINGLE TIME he ran his truck at a major show. Matter of fact, I never smelled that dreaded stench of burned coil the entire weekend!

I know that this post is alittle late but when I read it I just wanted to clarify that I, along with many others at finals seen the inside of Alan's car. He had the door open all of sat. and sun. as long as he was not running the AC. He happily talked to anyone about his car who approached him. And, there is no way that a description or even pics of his enlosure will help anyone and its just ignorant to think that it will. His car is amazing, contrary to popular belief hes a great guy and took all the time people wanted to answer questions. At the end of deathmatch he unbolted the door and let it slam at over 170db for another min after deathmatch! If you see the video im the guy who crawls in his car after the d.m. with it still playing. I dont kno where the rumors started that hes so secretive but he's really not. If you see him at a show approach him and you will be happily suprised ;)

Most of the extreme vehicles have no visiblie driving mechanics.Just a trap door where you access the pedals and maybe a small removable steering wheel that they remove after driving into the lanes.
