i saw a guy in a ranger that had a box for two 12 in the back of a ranger. the box was 8 cubes and ported to 68hertz. that sounds high to be but he can hit 155db. if i wish to compete what is a good number to tune to?

You gotta find the resonance frequency of your cabin.
SPL boxes tend to be tuned anywhere from about 40Hz ~ 60Hz. 65Hz sounds quite high, as rules state that you gotta use tones below 70Hz or something... should ask competitors for accurate numbers.
