Ok, i'm getting an E8A pretty soon...buying from sum1 who already has it. Next week i am going to be building a box for a friend and he's buying a sheet of mdf. SO, w/ the leftovers i want to build a box for my A...his box total will be bout 4cubes...so i should have enough left for like the .5 cubes i need for the 8A.
Tough question, i wanted to go ported b/c i want to see how loud this lil thing will get...but any recommendations. I have only dealt w/ 10's and 12's.
It will be powered by a jbl600.1
So, i am a retard w/ boxes...i want about .5-.8 cubes ported @ 30 hz. i'm not sure on calculations...or how to use programs. so, any box that would add up to .5-.8 cubes and 30hz. Thanx for all the help guys. peace

yeah...I checked that out b4 too, and way too complicated for me. hopefully someone can help me out so i can make one with a single open port...not labyrinth (sp?) type. thanx tho, peace

to make it easier...not sure if this will be anywhere near .5-.8 cubes but
max dimensions of
width: 14"
depth:14"
heighth: 20"
thanx

Those dimensions are twice the size you need. It works out to be about 1.673 as you have it now.

well without taking into account the wood, port, or sub displacements those max dimensions are about 2.27 cubes....so you can go quite a bit smaller than that...good luck....if you want easy just use a round/tube port....you can use pvc or something similar and someone on here has the formula to figure it's length according to the diameter for w/e freq you want to tune it to

ok, let's see here
how about...
width: 12.5"
Heighth: 12.5"
depth: 11"
external dimensions
so, it would be....11x11x9.5 then divide by 1728. Before displacement that would be .665 cubes. So, with those measurements...can sum1 help me out w/ a port to tune it to 30hz?? thanx, sorry for the trouble. peace

The port is going to have to be mighty small, Iam coming up with a 3X1 by 8.5 inches long for a tuning of 35 hertz, anything wider is going to have to be way longer.

ok, after talking to sum1 online....
dimensions:
width: 15
heighth: 11
depth: 11
INTERNAL dimensions
1.05 cubes before any displacement
hopefully after port and sub displacement it should be near .6-.8 cubes
don't kow if this makes it easier...but can i get 30hz tuning w/ this....preferably slot/square port. peace
