I'm looking for people who have built or designed 4th order bandpass systems for 81-89 "Box" chevy Caprices, Fleetwoods, Buick Electra, or Pontiac Bonnivilles. They all have the same trunk specs so the design will be the same. The local shop builds them, but they want outrageous prices. Its for a single TREO SSI 15.22. I will pay a pretty fair amount for the design, but please know what you're talking about. Pics would be even better and will raise the price.

If you decide to go with 12s I could do a real good design... Havent done enough bandpasses for 15s to be sure enough to charge for them.

Here is a shot.
Sealed chamer: 1.75 cu. ft.
Front chamber: As big as possible, with big port tuned to 35-40 hz

When you tune the box do you tune to the ported sides demensions or the whole box? I appreciate you guys being honest and admitting that you don't have the experience with 15s in 4th order rather than shooting me some ****. Good looking out.

80inches is good with this stuff as is tsgp (???)

yeah, use a small sealed chamber and make the front chamber as big as possible. Your efficiency will come from the front chamber

Getting it really efficient is also going to make it peak like a mother. One note wonder box.

How do I keep it from being a one note wonder box? Do I need to make it less efficient to hit a broader spectrum?

my thoughts exactly
if this sewtup is for 1 15...i suggest 2.5cubes sealed playing into 1.8 cubes ported area with 70 square inches of port tuned to 50hz
when designing a bandpass u have to tune in the middle of the bandwidth

what if i wanted my bandpass to peak like a mother how does tuning work then?

hmm, my 4th order sounds **** good on all bass notes. 2.6 cubes sealed, 7.5 ported tuned to 45 hz. The peak is no different than a ported enclosure, except that this box is louder than it's ported counterpart through the entire passband.

I'm not really grasping the square inches of port reference. How do I determine what 70 sq. in. is? How exactly do I make them connect, the two enclosues, and make sure they are sealed? Does anyone have any pics that I could see that would help me get this together? I really appreciate you guys helping me out.

Would Aeros work for this or would it be better to use wood? I'm still learning the right measurements for certain things so I'm noy really trusting my skills yet

its very easy to build a 4th order bp box.you dont make 2 seperate boxes.just get the totol cuft you need(front and back)add them together i.e.8 cubes 2on sealed 6 on ported.then just figure up with the space you got to work ith a good length height and depth, and build 1 rectangle box.when you put the speaker baffle in or (divider from sealed and ported)put the sub in and put on your last recangle peice to seal the whole box.you can make the ports out of 6" cardboard cement molds at lowes.they are like 5 bucks for a 5 footer.if you need 70 inches of port youll need 3 cuts off the tube.each being 28 in of port.just start out with them about12 inches long and cut them down until you like the response.doesnt sound very technacle but ive done many over the years, some great some o.k. but by adjusting port lengths was able to get all to sound repectable.in your situation,i would go large ported,if the bandpass thing dont workout.( oh and 3 of those ports would give you 84 inches of port so ya start a lil long with whatever you use and shorten them it increase tuning frequency.

30hrtz, is there any way you could help me out with this since you live kinda near me? I'd love to learn from someone with more experience than me. LMK.

...nvm... found them.
Man I'd do 4 cubes at 30Hz
instead of BP.
But that's just my 2c.
sorry.

I actually already have it in a 4cuft @32hz enclosure, but I want to get some of my trunk back or at least protect it from some of the stuff that I throw in my trunk. I also want to eliminate some of the rattles and get a custom look. Mobeious give me a quote on an enclosure for my sub. PM me
