port freq question

I am building a box for a Audioque SDC2.5 12 and it says to port at a freq of 36-40hz.

Should I aim for 36 or 40, or is it that as long as it is between 36 and 40 it will be fine?

that is a recommended range. realistically you can tune anywhere you want

38Hz worked fine on the box I did for 2 15's. Guy mostly listens to rap and it hits the lows very well.
