if you dont' have a SIM card, you have to get a phone that has your carrier on there, otherwise it won't be able to be activated. what service do you use, that'd help.

the only UNLOCKED phones are ones with SIM cards, so you can just pop your network's SIM in there and it'll work. & it is a GSM phone that you are looking for if you already have a SIM card.
