ok, it looks like my project is off to a rough start, the next comp here is the first or next month (next friday) and i need someone to design me a burp box
car was loudest at 45hz with 2 different sub setups
box will be for a single fi bl fully loaded 15
max height 15" max width 30" max depth 32"
will be going in the trunk of a 95 grand am w/ no rear seat
will be getting roughly 1400w rms
luckily a friend is letting me borrow his amp for the comp.
i'm not sure what other info is needed, let me know

hmm you just want a ported box tuned to 45hz? what sub/port configuration? I could whip something up and get the ideas flowing.

basically yea, just need a raw spl box

I could probably get you one for pretty cheap.
Any idea what you want it tuned to?

3 cubic feet 50" of port tuned to 45hz.. it'll fit turned around in any direction so you can play with firing the woofer in different directions. I didn't put it on there but i would do a double baffle w/ a flush mount.
If your interested in all of the design pm me.
also... you can try 45's in the enclosure if you'd like but i lost .4 db from adding 45's to the box in my truck.

In a grand am I would tune more like 40 hertz. Remember do not tune to the car peak frequency, make the combination of box and car peak at 45 hertz.

i've found that vehicles are loudest when tuned to their resonant frequency. I'm tuned to 45 and burp @ 46.. i started tuned to 42 and every time i cut my ports down i gained.. going up 1 hert at a time.
although, something may come into play with being underpowered that would make you want to tune lower.

i wont be under-powered rms is 1300 watts loaded, i will be pushing 1400 so i will be 100w over rated daily power, i know its not insane power....but its the best i can do for now.
what kinda wattage can i show these for burps anywho?

its hard to say, in a burp application i'm sure the coil and all that can handle well over 1500 rms but i don't know if the suspension will hold up to that.

i saw a vid on yourtube with a guy claiming to be running 3600w rms to 2 loaded 15"bl's daily, not sure if i believe him.....lol

i'm running 3.2k to 2 fully loaded bl 15"s daily and they take it no problem. if you wanna burp it i's go at least 2k.
