2 12" ED ks??

I need a box that will fit in my trunk, right around 16" high 20" deep 30" wide. I want it tuned to 30hrz.

I am thinking 16"h 18"d 28"w with a 12.5 x 2 port that is 16.5" deep right between the subs. snova031 's idea.

But this is going to be a thight fit by time I put the subs in. If I added about 1.5" on the width how much would I throw tuning.

Assuming you are using 3/4...

The first box is 3.67cu' tuned to 30Hz
The second is 3.88cu' tuned to 29Hz

Either way will sound nice, I don't think you will notice a difference.
